IQNA – The blessings of paradise, according to the Quran, are of various kinds, some are material, some are spiritual, and some are the absence of troubles and inconveniences.

Blessings of Paradise According to Quran

In Surah Al-Fatir, Verse 33, the Quran refers to the material one: “They shall enter the Gardens of Eden, where they shall be adorned with bracelets of gold and with pearls, and there, their robes shall be of silk.”

The believers who ignored worldly desires and did not seek to wear fancy clothes in this world will receive the best clothes and jewels in the hereafter.

The essence of the blessings of paradise is not fully comprehensible to those who live in this world. For example, although some descriptions about the clothes of the people of paradise are similar to those in this world, they are actually different in nature. These descriptions are meant to point out how beautiful, attractive and comfortable the clothes of paradise are.

In the next verse, peace of mind and absence of grief are mentioned as a spiritual blessing of paradise:

“And they shall say: ‘(All) praise is due to Allah, Who has made grief to depart from us; most surely our Lord is Forgiving, Multiplier of rewards.’” (Verse 34 of Surah Al-Fatir)

The two attributes of God mentioned at the end of the verses, namely Ghafour (Forgiving) and Shakour (Multiplier of rewards) shows that the blessings of paradise are the outcome of God being forgiving and that God multiplies the rewards of good deeds.

In the next verse, we read: “(Those who enter paradise say:) It is He who has granted us, through His favor, an everlasting dwelling wherein we shall experience no hardship nor any fatigue.” (Verse 35 of Surah Al-Fatir)

So in paradise, everything that is needed for peace of mind and happiness is available. In this world, some people may have welfare and wealth but calm and peace of mind are rare. The people of paradise, however, not only have welfare and comfort, but are also away from any grief and sorrow. Paradise is the place where there is true peace and there is no sadness, suffering and misery.
